“Cardinal Points” Featured in ek – Maison de Campagne

The impressive “Cardinal Points” residence in Kythira, designed by the architectural practice M3 Architects, was featured in the ek – Maison de Campagne 2021 edition, highlighting contemporary architectural creativity on the island.

The house is set on a 5,322 sq.m. property within an olive grove of 61 trees. Its design was shaped by the site’s orientation, natural terrain and views towards Agia Moni, Mount Vouno and the beach of Paleopolis.

The composition is arranged in distinct volumes that open towards the surrounding landscape without disturbing its character. Local stone is combined with white surfaces, large glazed openings and clean geometric lines, creating a residence that is both contemporary and fully integrated into the Kytherian environment.

A particularly distinctive feature is the internal courtyard, with an olive tree at its centre, serving as a symbolic and visual focal point of the house. The swimming pool, pergolas and outdoor living areas strengthen the connection between interior and exterior spaces, offering uninterrupted views and a strong sense of calm.

The project is a characteristic example of the philosophy of M3 Architects: contemporary design, respect for the landscape, and emphasis on functionality, natural light and authentic materials.
